School Advisory Council (SAC)

What is the SAC board?

The School Advisory Council is a consultative council established by the pastor, in accord with Diocesan Policy, to assist him and the principal in specific areas of school operation. This group of parents meets monthly to give input to the principal and pastor on issues involving school policy, finance, and operation.

As a consultative council, the members of the council cannot act apart from the pastor and the principal and cannot make decisions binding on the school without the final approval of the pastor. On the other hand, consultation implies that the pastor and/or the principal will not make major decisions contrary to the advice of the council, especially when there is consensus, unless the pastor and/or the principal have an overriding reason.
